EID Event in Tarragona: look back
Fully involved in the questions of Equality, Inclusion and Diversity, the SiNANO Institute hold its second EID event in Tarragona, during a joint Workshop. Carmen Moldovan (IMT Bucharest), official EID chair of the SiNANO Institute, introduced and chaired this event. Then, Clivia SotoMayor-Tores, from ICN2, presented the current challenges and numbers related to EID in the scientific world. It opened the debate on solutions we could think of, to make a more gender balanced, inclusive and diversified future.
In the framework of the SINANO Institute Equality, Inclusion & Diversity Plan, after nomination and selection, 3 promising SINANO Junior Researchers were offered the opportunity to present their own experience including issues, career expectations, “Business Card” and a Technical presentation on their research in nanoelectronics, mentioning motivation, skills and expertise.
Congratulations for their selection as SINANO Junior promising researcher to:
– Dr Peng Xiao – Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), nominated by Clivia M Sotomayor Torres – presentation on ” Thermal management of 2D materials for next generation electronics ”
– Dr Libo Chen – Uppsala University, nominated by Shili Zhang – presentation on “Neuromimetic e-skins towards a human-like sense of touch”
Congratulations for his selection as SINANO Experienced Junior promising researcher to:
– Dr Emigdio Chavez – Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), nominated by Clivia M Sotomayor Torres who had then the opportunity to present his work on “Thermal, acoustic and optical properties of Si-based nanostructures” during a workshop session.
