Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Elena and I am senior scientific researcher at ICN2. I studied chemistry, was always willing to learn new things so decided to do a PhD in physical chemistry and further develop my career in this area
Can you explain your work in simple terms?
Our aim is to develop medical implants that do not require the use of an external battery and could be self-powered
What is your role within the SiNANO Institute?
I am ICN2 representative at Sinano and contribute to the Equity working group
What does being a woman in science represent for you? / What impact do you think greater representation of women in science would have?
For me, it represents possibility, to be present in spaces where we are not yet equally represented. By increasing women representation, we broaden the perspectives leading to better, and and more responsive to real-world needs, scientific answers.
What message would you like to share with young girls who hesitate to pursue science?
The world need all vocations and perspectives, curiosity has no gender.
